PPA Winter Bash January 7, 2023
The Peterborough Pickleball Association is excited to announce the second annual Winter Bash on January 7, 2023 at the Peterborough Sports and Wellness Centre. There will be two sections. The first will start at 8:00 am and will be a round robin in which each division will have eight participants. Each participant will play 7 games with 7 different partners. After the 7 games we will award a gold, silver and bronze medals to individuals based on number of wins, followed by head to head games, followed by points differential. Participants will be asked to rate themselves during the registration process to help the tournament director create the 8 divisions.
The second section will begin at 1 pm and will include a men’s doubles event and a women’s doubles event. There will be no mixed doubles. The format will be a round robin following by a single elimination bracket playoffs. There will be three skill divisions: advanced (3.5+), intermediate (3.0) and novice (2.5). Each team will be guaranteed 3 games.
The cost will be $30 for the morning and $20 for the afternoon. There will be a maximum of 64 participants in the morning and 64 participants in the afternoon. For liability and insurance reasons, all participants will be required to be members of Canada Pickleball and Ontario Pickleball. The cost of this membership is $21.20 and is good for one year. This membership will be required for all Peterborough Pickleball Association events this year including ladders, round robins, and recreational play. This can be done using this link:
