PPA News

Dear PPA Members

Construction at the Bonnerworth courts is well underway and paving began last week. The City is still on track for a later fall opening.

Updates with the City of Peterborough

We have been meeting regularly with the City to discuss how the courts will develop to meet both our needs and theirs. One significant topic was the fencing around the courts, which we felt was essential to provide. As a result, we were asked to contribute an additional $40,000 to the $75,000 we have already contributed to the new courts to ensure fencing would be included in the project. We were able to make a payment of $20,000 but need to fundraise for the additional $20,000.

Just a reminder, this is a City of Peterborough project, not a PPA initiative. However, there are opportunities for both individuals and businesses to support the park.

Help us build the courts! Your contribution is important and we need your support!

We’re asking our members to contribute whatever you can to help our organization meet the additional $20,000 cash requirement. Without our annual Steve Mayhew Tournament, we do not have the usual amount of money in our bank account.

Please consider supporting this initiative, your donation will directly ensure the courts are built the way we all want and ready for our community to enjoy for years to come. Every contribution makes a real difference.

We truly need your help, and we are deeply grateful for your support.

Donations can be made through the City’s special online portal, which is now live and ready for your contribution. You will receive a tax receipt from the City. Every bit helps us reach our goal, thank you for your support.
